This Workshop will be valuable for individuals involved in or interested in cardiac safety assessment across the drug development continuum. It is designed for students, trainees and full-time professionals (MD, PharmD, PhD) at all stages of their careers who are engaged in early-phase and clinical drug development. Target participants include clinical pharmacologists, pharmacometricians, primary investigators, early-phase clinical scientists, clinical study leaders and other healthcare professionals working in drug development. The Workshop is also relevant for physicians, pharmacists and scientists from academia, industry and regulatory agencies seeking a deeper understanding of cardiac risk evaluation and mitigation strategies. Attendees should have a foundational understanding of clinical pharmacology and drug development processes. No specialized training in cardiac electrophysiology is required, but familiarity with early-phase clinical trials or safety data interpretation will enhance the learning experience. Clinical Pharmacology Curriculum Review Course
The Clinical Pharmacology Curriculum Review Course is held on a biennial basis and is sponsored jointly by the American Board of Clinical Pharmacology (ABCP) and the American College of Clinical Pharmacology (ACCP). The Course is designed to review topics of broad interest to clinical pharmacologists. It will combine presentation of exciting new concepts in clinical pharmacology with a review of topics associated with core concepts in clinical pharmacology. The Course is appropriate for individuals interested in reviewing the discipline or desiring an update in key areas. In addition, the Course is intended as a clinically-focused course that is complementary to the NIH Principles of Clinical Pharmacology Course. The Course format will be didactic sessions, focusing on core knowledge areas in clinical pharmacology and include clinical management case discussion to enhance problem-solving skills in a format commonly used in board examinations.
